Common questions
- Porchlight doesn't label calls.
- Turn it on once: Settings › Apps › Phone › Call Blocking & Identification › Porchlight. If you can't find it, search for “Call Blocking” in Settings.
- Why does a real business show as reported?
- Reports come from the public and are not verified, and scammers fake caller ID with real numbers. Tap Mark Safe on that number and Porchlight will never label or block it.
- Does Porchlight block calls?
- Only if you choose. By default it shows a label and the call still rings. In Settings you can choose to block numbers with many recent scam reports. Numbers you block yourself are always blocked.
- A scam called and Porchlight showed nothing.
- New scam numbers appear every day and only reported numbers are labeled. If a caller pressures you to pay, share a code or act right now, hang up. Then report the number to the FTC from Look Up so others are warned.
- How often is the list updated?
- The FTC publishes complaints on business days. Porchlight downloads the latest list about once a day.
- How do I delete my data?
- Everything Porchlight keeps is on your iPhone: clear Recent lookups in Look Up, remove numbers in My Lists, or delete the app to remove everything.
